These dollars will be deposited into a health reimbursement account (HRA), which can be used toward eligible health care expensesTuition reimbursement up to $5,000 annually; must be employed 1 year to be eligibleEmployee assistance programVoluntary benefits like Long Term Disability, accident coverage, critical illness, LegalShield, and Identify TheftDutiesDuties are performed under the direct supervision of the Budget & Finance Supervisor and may include the following:Essential DutiesSupport the development of the annual budgetAssist in internal audit processes, procedures, programs, and examinationsDrive continuous improvement in financial reporting within the various service unitsPrepare/review accounts payables, accounts receivable, purchase orders, bids and council resolutionsGenerate timely budget/forecast statementsMonitor budget performance for service units to ensure their accuracy and create unique management reports as requiredIndependently analyze, predict, and solve problemsConduct special studies affecting service unit financial performance including fee/rate analyses, overtime minimization, etc.Analyze operational processes and procedures and recommend process, and operational improvementsRelated WorkSupport ad hoc requests for financial analysesPerform related financial work and special projects as assignedIncluding, but not limited to:Bid opening supportGrant management/reportingAssist with policy development and implementation of best practicesKnowledge of: (position requirements at entry)Managerial accounting principles, practices and proceduresBudget and planning methods and proceduresSound internal control proceduresComputerized financial systemsComputers and software applications used in business settings (e.g. Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat)Advanced mathematical and statistical analysesGeneral office management and proceduresOutstanding customer service principles and practicesSkills and Ability to: (position requirements at entry)Properly utilize accounting, budget and planning principles, practices and proceduresAbility to interact effectively with both operating personnel and management and apply finance principles to help solve operational challengesAccurately interpret and implement policies, procedures and regulationsProblem solve and demonstrate decision making and analytical capabilitiesAnalyze and organize financial information and prepare reportsEffectively communicate through oral and written communicationDevelop and maintain non-partisan, respectful and effective working relationshipsAnalyze complex budget and planning issues and assist in developing alternative solutionsSet priorities, coordinate multiple projects, work independently and meet critical deadlinesListen to understand the intended meaning of the messageDemonstrate excellent customer service techniquesTraining and Experience: (position requirements at entry)Required:Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or universityPreferred:Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Public Administration or closely related fieldExperience in Accounting, Financial Analysis - at least 1-3 yearsMunicipal experience
