Summary
We are in search of Sponsored Programs Reporting Accountants to
join our team in the Finance-Sponsored Programs office. This is an
exciting opportunity for business majors interested in
not-for-profit and governmental accounting. The Reporting Area of
Sponsored Programs prepares approximately 9,000 reports annually
while ensuring compliance with sponsor guidelines. Employees in
this role will gain experience in preparing income statements,
training in fund accounting, and understanding of the University
financial systems.
Starting Salary: $51,500

Responsibilities*
This position is responsible for post-award accounting of grants
and contracts. It provides policy and procedure interpretation to
University departments and assists in preparation of reports to
federal and sponsoring agencies.
Required Qualifications*
Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related
field with a minimum of 8 accounting courses.Candidate must be
highly motivated and enjoy working in a fast paced, production
environment. Candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills
including the ability to effectively communicate and work with a
variety of individuals and units. Candidate must be detail oriented
and organized, as well as having the ability to utilize spreadsheet
software to analyze data.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position; Monday through Friday.As part of the
University of Michigan Finance Division Future of Work initiative,
this position may work onsite, remote, or hybrid (both onsite work
and remotely) based on the business needs of the unit.
