Job Description Job Description Salary: $22 DOE What is the position? Roofing Technician performing installation or repairs on commercial flat roofing in the metro Detroit area.We repair roofs such as EPDM, BUR, Torch Down, Duro-Last, TPO, etc. We install Duro-Last roof systems. At least 2 years of flat roofing experience is required for this position. This position is designed for candidates who can hit the ground running fairly quickly. Shingle roofing experience is great to have, but does not qualify towards the 2 years of experience. Who is MacDermott Roofing? Brings safety infractions to attention to help the team improve on safety initiatives Typical Responsibilities and Duties: Lifting and carrying over 50lbs. Climbing ladders Using hand tools Communicating/collaborating with co-workers Make repairs to commercial and industrial flat roofs (Various materials TPO, EPDM, PVC, etc.) (rarely commercial shingle) Perform installation of Duro-Last roofs Consistently learning/developing your skills Carry out duties as instructed by supervisory staff Obtain safety training and maintain safety protocol and standards at all times Qualifications: Must have at least 2 years of commercial flat roofing repair or installation experience (resume must reflect this experience) Must be 18 years old High school diploma or GED Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation Ability to use hand tools Punctual / Reliable Quick Learner Good communication skills Ability to lift and carry over 50lbs. Ability to use a ladder OSHA 10 certification within the last 5 years; if not it will be required within the first 60 days of employment (course paid for by employer). OSHA Fall Protection training within the last 5 years; if not it will be required within the first 60 days of employment (course paid for by employer).
