Job Description Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1 years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for a Certified Elementary Cognitively Impaired (CI) educator serving students in grades K2. This contract role is onsite and extends through June 11, 2026, within a K-12 school setting in Sterling Heights, MI. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with cognitive impairments and/or autism spectrum disorders - Develop individualized education programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student development and inclusion - Employ Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) techniques to maintain a safe learning environment - Maintain accurate records and monitor student progress Qualifications: - Valid Special Education License with CI or ASD endorsement - Certification in CPI or a demonstrated willingness to obtain and maintain this certification annually - Experience working with early childhood learners (grades K2) preferred - Strong communication skills and ability to work onsite full-time Location: - Sterling Heights, MI Contract Details: - Full-time hours - Position duration through the end of the school year, June 11, 2026 - Onsite teaching required This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the early education of students with special needs.
