With a foundation in computer vision, algorithms, mapping, and Artificial Intelligence, TuSimple is working to create the first global commercially viable autonomous truck driving platform!Job OverviewWe are looking for a Senior EDS Vehicle Architecture Engineer to develop and maintain wiring diagrams and 2D schematics for all the Electrical Distribution systems (Wire harnesses) at TuSimple You will work with the cross-development and design engineers throughout the engineering organization to ensure the relevant subsystems are designed with appropriate requirements, interfaces, and interactions to achieve specific wire harness vehicle functions.Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain wiring diagrams Logical & Physical Schematics
  • Work with hardware engineering teams and suppliers to obtain harness relevant data
  • Select fuses and wire sizes
  • Work with mechanical engineering teams on harness drawings, and finalizing connector selection
  • Utilize and maintain component libraries
  • Merge harness schematics with 3D designs into a consistent data set that we submit to harness manufacturers
  • Maintain and configure harness variants for vehicles and a variety of different test bench designs
  • Work with tool suppliers on integrations to streamline the processes and to improve harness data quality
  • Work with technicians to build harnesses for test and kitting benches
  • Report and escalate issues as appropriate and participate in triaging of issues with different teams and harness suppliersExperience and Skills required :
    • 5- 10 years of experience in system engineering or Electrical Engineering, with direct working experience within the Electrical Distribution Systems- Wire Harnesses.
    • Proven long term experience in harness schematic design and vehicle harness development
    • Proven senior-level experience with harness schematic tools such asCapital, VeSys, or others
    • Detailed knowledge of relevant formats such as kbl, XML, and others
    • Experience in selecting wiring sizes and types as well as connectors
    • Harness Debugging experience
    • Harness manufacturing experience
    • Experience Capital Harness XC integrator and Logic
    • Familiarity with CAN messaging systems
    • Experience with model-based behaviors
    • Experience with automotive body computers
    • Ability to interface with connector, PDC, vehicle architecture, and systems engineers to manage all electrical aspects of wiring design
    • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
    • Ability to identify and communicate risks, mitigate, and drive issues to closure
