for a dynamic Embedded Hardware & Firmware Engineer to help develop
state of the art vehicle diagnostic equipment and communication
devices. In this role, you will work directly with the various
technology departments to develop world-class diagnostic tools that
meet and exceed our customers needs. Responsibilities and
DutiesDevelop new embedded automotive diagnostic pass-thru products
(PC boards and firmware)Build diagnostic systems including PC
hardware, vehicle communication hardware and battery management
hardwareDevelop new products/devices, features, and improve quality
for new and existing hardware, firmware, and softwareImprove code
quality through writing unit tests, automation and performing code
reviewsDesign and develop product and protocol validation
testsBuild product tools using C, C++, & C#Test new designs, find
solutions to issues foundCreate test systems for the new
productsImplement new vehicle protocols and create test suites to
confirm their operationInterface with customers to collect
information on the performance of our productsRequired
QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Hardware Engineering or related
field; or equivalent experience plus education/training2+ years'
experience in hardware design or developmentMust have a passion for
creating high quality Embedded productsStrong knowledge of hardware
design and components including MPUs, UART, CAN, LIN, A/D, D/A
converters, RAM/Flash memories, and other digital
electronicsExperience with designing processors, power supplies,
communication, analog and digital electronic circuits Strong
knowledge and experience of C, C++, and C# programming
languagesAbility to debug electronic circuitsExcellent
communication skills, including the ability to communicate concepts
in software and schematic designMust have written and oral
proficiency in the English languageStrong understanding and ability
to utilize device datasheetsAbility to estimate project schedule
and required resourcesExcellent time management skillsHigh degree
of personal integrity, a strong work ethic and a team
playerPreferred Experience & QualificationsExperience developing
products using the ARM family of processorsStrong understanding of
electronic design for EMC / EMI complianceAbility to solder surface
mount components onto a PC boardStrong problem-solving skills
including the ability to debug complex embedded software
issuesSelf-driven and self-motivatedHas knowledge about OBD (On
Board Diagnostics)Complete projects/tasks on a timely basis,
according to commitments madeExperience with batteries and battery
maintenance circuitsFamiliar with the SAE J2534 specificationSome
experience with USB, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectionsKnowledgeable
