Alfred H. Schutte, based in Cologne, Germany, is a leading
global manufacturer of Multi- Spindle Automatics and 5-Axis CNC
Grinding Machines and is represented on several continents by
subsidiaries. Schutte USA, servicing North America located in
Jackson, MI is currently seeking an Applications Engineer to
support our clients and product lines.
Job Summary We are seeking an innovative, talented and experienced
Applications Engineer to join our team. You will drive success with
a goal of improving customer satisfaction, maximizing client

relationships. Job Responsibilities
- Develop applications that effectively accomplish client
objectives and user needs
- Design and write code for CNC applications
- Recommending appropriate cutting tools, work-holding and
fixturing per customer or part/print specification
- Remodel and adapt applications as needed to optimize
performance - Maintain customer satisfaction by using creativity
and ingenuity to investigate complaints, identify resolutions,
suggest enhanced operating techniques, and recommend system
improvements.
- Test applications extensively to ensure they are error and bug
free
- Act as a technical advisor to all departments
- Liaise with sales department to identify technical requirements
and develop solutions
- Determine project constraints including estimated time and
costs
- Act as resident technological expert advisor for our
products
- Customize specialized applications according to client
needs
- Create Time studies and perform test cuts
- Maintain positive client relationships
- Provide customer service and support during field visits and
tie workflow to schedules to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Collaborate with the technical team and share information
across the organization to build positive relationships with
clients and coworkers.
- Satisfy customer needs by making appropriate recommendations
and briefings using appropriate field automation systems,
procedures, and protocols.
- Exercise diplomacy in resolving conflicting customer
performance expectations Job Skills & Qualifications Required:
- Technical degree preferred or 3-5 year's minimum experience
with CNC programming
- CNC Application Programming Experience
- Tooling and Work-holding experience
- Successful experience identifying and implementing process
improvements in machining technology
- Ability to adapt to dynamic work schedules and flexible
shifts
- Superb customer service, communication and self-management
skills
Preferred:
- Siemens 840D Power Line and or Solution Line
- 5 Axis CNC Grinding
- Fanuc Robot experience
- Familiarity with mobile applications and tools
- Awareness of chemical, health and safety issues
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office
- Additional requirements
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to obtain a US passport
- Ability and willingness to travel nationally 60% and some
