Job Purpose: This position reports to the Senior Director, Facilities Operations & Maintenance and directs personnel, budget and operational activities of unionized personnel to provide a safe, clean, visually appealing and accessible campus environment for the University's stakeholders, and urban adjacencies. Position develops recommendations for standards, establishes processes for seasonal maintenance, enhances and executes master planned vision, monitors and coordinates repairs for hard scapes, and elevates approximately 195 urban acres consistent with the University's vision and mission. Direct grounds operating budget; approximately $1.75 million. Manages tool and equipment fleet. Qualifications: Bachelor's with a discipline related to facilities, botany, horticulture, landscape design/management, golf course management, or business management degree. Certified Educational Facilities Professional (CEFP), or other related and recognized industry certifications - desired. Master's degree in business or organizational management - preferred. Experience:Five years of grounds/landscape management, and two years of supervisory experience. Experience in monitoring and controlling a significant operating budget. Experience in union environments required. Experienced at maintaining a vehicle fleet and operational service equipment with proper maintenance and record keeping required. Experience in garden and botanical layout design desired. General Requirements:The position is considered essential personnel; on call 24 hours daily, seven days a week.
