Full-time Regular Ann Arbor, MI, US 19 days ago Requisition ID: 1098 Environmental Consulting & Technology, Inc. (ECT), seeks a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead its fiscal management including assurance of the accuracy and conformance of financial statements with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and provide insights that contribute to the firm?s performance, profitability, and sustained growth. Reporting to the President/CEO, the CFO will work closely with ECT?s leadership team and lead our Financial Services operations that consists of roughly 10 professionals across accounting, facilities and contracting services.-- Primary responsibilities of the CFO include: Develop and lead finance organization and operational strategies, establish functional objectives in line with organization objectives, evaluate trends, design systems, accumulate resources, resolve problems, and implement changes where needed.-- Lead the preparation of monthly--financial reports and provide related summaries--to management and the Board of Directors. Lead forecasts that include financial performance, capital, facilities, and staff requirements, identify monetary resources, and develop action plans. Recommend strategic and operational optimization plans based upon financial data that include management and analysis of the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow, and help identify improvements and opportunities while mitigating risk. Work with management to identify growth opportunities by studying broader economic trends and revenue opportunities as well as acquisition and expansion prospects. Improve financial performance and operational efficiency by analyzing the organization?s operations, identifying opportunities for improvement, implementing cost reduction and systems enhancement, and accumulating capital to fund expansion.-- Monitor financial performance by establishing key performance metrics and financial ratios and measuring and analyzing results, initiate corrective actions, and minimize the impact of project losses. Update job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations. Communicate expectations, provide coaching and feedback, monitor and manage performance, and provide development opportunities for direct reports and other team members.-- Manage the functions of payroll, accounting, accounts receivable and payable, holding company finance, and credit. Develop and monitor control systems designed to preserve company assets, and report accurate financial results. Ensure the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements as well as requirements of auditors and government agencies. Manage relationships such as those of banking and accounting partners as well as the activities conducted by such partners.-- Manage all tax reporting. Facilitate the financial management, share price evaluation process, and administration of the Company?s Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). --Additional responsibilities include: Lead and support the organization?s legal and contracts division.-- Manage and direct the company?s facilities and fleet management program. Adhere to company, federal, state, and local business requirements, enforcing compliance and acting when necessary. Partner with the President/CEO on financial strategy and solutions to achieve growth targets over the near- and long-term. Support development of the culture consistent with company values. Educational/Experience Requirements: Bachelor?s degree--in relevant field with advanced degree strongly preferred. 10+ Years of leadership experience leading a team and organization in the financial department. Professional--credentials such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or related financial and accounting--certifications. Leadership experience--within an ESOP organization or similar-structured organization. Demonstrated experience managing and evolving technology platforms such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or related industry specific project management and accounting platforms.-- Demonstrated success leading organization through Merger and Acquisition (M&A) planning, discovery, negotiations, and implementation.-- Experience administering programs related to business services such as legal contract review, fleet management, facility management, etc.-- Additional Requirements: Demonstrated leadership skills, creative, adaptive, and willing to challenge the status quo. Proven experience in financial forecasting, cost and benefit analysis, budgeting, and capital reporting.-- Results-oriented with a strategic operational and business focus. Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written.-- Proven track record of developing cohesive teams, coaching, and developing individuals.-- Team-oriented, collaborative,--and professional.
