ProQuest is headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with offices around the world. ProQuest is seeking a strategic senior leader to support our largest business unit, ProQuest Information Solutions. This key leadership role is responsible for a line of business with a large product portfolio of academic research products including General Reference, Business, SciTech, Health, Social Sciences, and Video products. The Vice President leads a geographically dispersed global product management team located in ProQuest offices in Ann Arbor, MI and Cambridge, UK, as well as remote employees. In addition, this leader leverages a team of up to 50 matrix employees in shared service organizations to execute the development and launch of PQIS products. What you'll be doing: The Vice President, Product Management acts as a general manager for their line of business driving operational strategy, marketing and business performance of the line of business; responsibilities will include: Business management of the products in the Line of Business

  • Managing P&L responsibility including revenue and profit margin.
  • Managing direct revenues and product lifecycles for the Line of Business and contribution to PQIS portfolio solutions.
  • Directing product development of primary source collections and value propositions for aggregated content. Driving commercial success and directing product marketing strategy
    • Defining target markets / segments and white space
    • Defining strategies, tactics, and metrics (key performance indicators)
    • Driving and manages sales results (matrix responsibility with sales teams)
    • Go-to-market planning for new product launches and product bundles Guiding Product Management teams in their activities including
      • Defining product strategy and roadmap
      • Market discovery and persona concept development
      • Commercialization and establishing product requirements Product roadmaps and product delivery/life-cycle management Providing executive leadership as a member of the PQIS leadership team
        • Partnering with the leadership team to develop PQIS strategy and performance
        • Taking responsibility for cross divisional tasks
        • Promoting, collaboration and participating in developing a winning culture. What you'll need to be successful:
          • Bachelor's degree or higher in related field, plus 10 or more years of relevant work experience; Strong preference for advanced degree and prior work experience in content/information/EdTech industry.
          • Deep understanding of business drivers, context, and key issues, able use holistic understanding to set strategy for the line of business.
          • Experienced manager of of complex internal and external relationships with the ability to leverage strong communication skills, listening skills and a "customer first" orientation with higher education customers.
          • Strong senior leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate vision, set direction and effectively manage the performance of a team of 7.
          • Ability to effectively contribute as a leadership team member for the ProQuest Information Solutions Business Unit.
          • Ability to use data and analysis to drive decisions and set strategy for the line of business.
          • Strong influencing skills to drive objectives in a matrixed environment. ProQuest Values:
