Job descriptionEllis Porter PLC is an immigration law firm seeking a Writer/Case Manager. In this position, you will be responsible for helping attorneys to draft professional documents and assisting senior paralegals and attorneys with immigration related issues in an employment-based context. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential; experience in technical or legal writing may be helpful but is not required.This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position that offers flexible hours and the ability to work remotely. This position also offers the opportunity for advancement to the position of Senior Case Manager/Paralegal. We are a quickly growing firm looking for a candidate who wishes to grow with us and be part of our long-term plans.Required SkillsApplicants for this position should have at least a bachelor's degree, preferably in a writing-intensive field:* A demonstrated high level of rhetorical (persuasive) writing and editing* Thorough attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills* Analytical mindset with a rigorous approach to evaluating arguments and evidence* Flexible and able to quickly adapt to rapid changes in the workplace* The ability to work both independently and as part of a team* Strong word processing and computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with utilizing technology in your workThe successful candidate will initially work as a 1099 contractor paid on a per-project basis for up to 90 days, then transitioning to full-time W-2 employment based on performance.Compensation for this position is $40,000 with the potential for performance bonuses and promotion.
