KO Business Solutions is proud to be working alongside a renowned fenestration company in Lower Michigan as they seek to hire a Design Center Manager to join their team!
This Design Center Manager role is a direct hire opportunity at a salary between $72,000-80,000 + annual bonus!
The Design Center Manager will join the team in which they will be responsible for achieving the highest level of profitability in Design Center-supported product categories through proper management of facilities, employees, inventories, display assets, marketing and product alignment while meeting Company objectives and customer requirements. Plans facilities and services for present and anticipated growth.

Responsibilities

  • Directs Design Center operations towards accomplishment of Company objectives as specified in annual operating budget and business plan.
  • Communicates policies and objectives to sales and staff. Provides general direction in organization, controls and procedures to administer policies and achieve objectives.
  • Supervises Installed Sales Representatives and Builder Sales Representatives to accomplish sales goals.
  • Supervise and direct communication with other facilities to ensure highest possible corporate product sales penetration.
  • Develops and recommends short-term and long-range plans and programs with supporting budget requirements and financial objectives.
  • Directs operation of Design Center at lowest cost consistent with established specifications as to quality and quantity.
  • Develops plans for improvement/expansion of facilities and equipment and recommends to President/CEO.
  • Interviews, hires, and trains Associates; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines Associates; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
  • Works with corporate marketing to establish a marketing budget, marketing plan and tools to measure results
  • Regularly accompanies representatives on customer visits to assist and monitor sales activity in local area.
  • Recruits, hires, motivates and trains subordinates to reach personal and company goals.
  • Coordinates with General Manager to develop pricing strategy to service key accounts.
  • Works with purchasing to negotiate programs and strengthen relationships with manufacturer and distributor partners. Develop strategies to maximize buying power and program benefits.
  • Develops annual sales budget and goals in conjunction with General Manager, and monitors progress toward goals.
  • Budgets and administers sales incentive programs.
  • Structures programs to motivate sales personnel and encourage increased purchasing by customers.
  • Proactively recommends adjustments to current product line and pricing to remain competitive in the local market.
  • Attends and participates in all company-sponsored training programs as required.
    RequirementsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Must have 5 to 8 years of related experience (three to five years in supervisory role); or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Must be able to demonstrate strong leadership abilities
    • Must be proficient in basic computer skills including Word, Excel, etc.
    • Must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
    • Must possess proven proficiency in sales and negotiating skills, and training skills
    • Must have excellent customer service skills and problem identification and resolution strategies
    • Must have solid knowledge of building materials products (especially fenestration, kitchen & bath) and installation services
    • Must have knowledge of point-of-sales systems, basic business accounting, safety and store security
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
