Headquartered a few miles north of downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan (USA), BTI specializes in advanced, automated; balancing, dimensional gaging, non-destructive testing, NVH, eddy current crack detection, surface finish measurement, Spinners, motor testers, resonant frequency measurement and other precision measurement and testing systems. While the automotive industry represents a portion of BTI business, the company is also active in a variety of other industries including, but not limited to, energy and power generation, aerospace, medical, marine, rail, off-road vehicles. BTI's unique ability to combine the aforementioned technologies into one fully integrated system enables our clients to reduce capital expenditures, increase product quality, and minimize floor space requirements. Additionally, BTI Measurement & Testing Services division provides both onsite and offsite services such as: prototype testing, equipment and master certification, low and high volume balancing, low and high volume gaging, low and high volume testing, consulting, vibration analysis, training and more--- DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • The preferred candidates will have a B.S. in an engineering discipline and have a strong mechanical aptitude. Exposure to precision measurement systems, automation, manufacturing processes, and statistical analysis are beneficial but not required.
  • 3 years' experience in capital equipment sales in a technical environment preferred
  • Energetic and motivated self-starter with strong work ethic
  • No travel restrictions - available to travel both domestically and internationally
  • Strong technical communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong email/letter writing skills imperative
  • Negotiating skills and commercial understanding are important
  • Attention to detail is imperative as is the ability to reconcile discrepancies in multiple documents
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and online meeting software
  • Foreign language skills are a plus, but not required
    Job Responsibilities:
    • Management of the entire sales process from start to finish
    • Review customer RFQs and specifications
    • Ensure quotation and estimate meet customer requirements
    • Negotiate commercial and technical aspects of the project
    • "Go-To" person for customer questions and issues.
    • Relate technical information to non-technical people
    • Identify new areas of growth for the business
    • Think creatively to concept equipment to meet the customer's requirements
    • Consistent achievement of sales goals
    • Presenting product technology to customers
    • Domestic and International travel to customer locations
    • Cold Calling
    • Problem-solving skills and the ability to lead without direct authority (i.e. lead a team of people from multiple disciplines to resolve an issue).
