Washtenaw Community College (WCC) is one of the nation's premier community colleges with an annual enrollment of more than 18,000 students in credit classes each year, and thousands more in Economic and College Development classes.Job DutiesPosition Summary:
The Director of Institutional Research designs and oversees the implementation of formative and summative analytical studies that are focused on institutional priorities. The Director oversees internal and external reporting processes and manages primary and secondary data collection. The employee is expected to work in a fast paced, multi-culturally diverse working environment.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
--- Formulate research protocols and evaluative studies that support decision-making.
--- Maintain accurate procedural documentation regarding analytical and reporting procedures.
--- Utilize a multi-dimensional information management system to acquire appropriate data in support of analytical studies.
--- Design, gather and analyze complex statistical educational data, employing a variety of statistical and analytical methodologies.
--- Provide support and expertise in research design, methods, analysis, data processing and data presentation.
--- Ensure that meaningful, appropriate and accurate data is available to meet the decision-making needs of the College.
--- Coordinate ad hoc research and evaluative projects as needed.
--- Maintain a comprehensive system of gathering and maintaining primary and secondary data to support qualitative and quantitative analytical studies.
--- Advise the Executive Director of Analytics & Institutional Research on matters related to data collection, analysis and reporting.
--- Maintain confidentiality of information.
--- Perform other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsMinimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
--- Bachelor's degree in Education Evaluation, Social Science, Business or related field.
--- Five (5) years' experience leading research and evaluation projects in a higher education setting.
--- Demonstrated ability to work quickly and maintain a high level of attention to detail and quality.
--- Expert level knowledge of research methodologies and inferential statistics used in evaluative research studies.
--- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
--- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with faculty, senior administrators, staff and students.
--- Demonstrated expertise in utilizing complex electronic information management systems.Additional Preferred Qualifications:
--- Master's degree or higher.
