    As a Credit Manager at Dawn Foods, you are responsible for credit risk management across the customer bases of Dawn's business divisions (USBD, USBP, Export, etc.). Successfully administer the resulting invoice and deduction balances generated by order activity. Manage, coach, and develop a team of direct and indirect reports comprised of A/R Controllers, Deduction Analysts and/or Cash Application team members.

    Ensure that direct reports are in compliance with departmental policies/procedures and rules governing system usage. Utilizing those policy guidelines, provide training, direction, and support to both direct reports and our internal customers (sales organization, general managers, customer service, etc.). Overall objective of the role and the A/R function is to create and maintain a balanced environment that supports the company's efforts to maximize sales and margin, while simultaneously minimizing bad debt risk to the company.

    What Does It Take to be a Credit Manager at Dawn Foods?

    Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.
    • Bachelor's Degree required in a business-oriented field, including intermediate accounting.
      • Degree: BA/BS with major or minor in Accounting/Finance/Business
      • 10+ years of business experience to include 5 years of credit and collections experience.
      • Specialist Areas of Experience Preferred or Equivalent (Professional Designation, Certifications, etc.):
        • NACM Professional Certifications: Certified Credit Executive (CCE), Certified Business Fellow (CBF), Certified Business Associate (CBA), Certified International Credit Professional (CICP)
        • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
        • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) What You'll Do as a Credit Manager
          • Track and continuously monitor the aged accounts receivable performance of the customers and the departmental team under their direct supervision.
          • Partner with other Credit manager to provide additional customer coverage and backfill support as needed.
          • Ensure timely, complete, and accurate customer reviews being performed by A/R Controllers and Analysts, including review of the credit limits and risk ratings assigned to customers.
          • Determine the best course of action for excessively delinquent accounts (credit limit revocation, payment plan, 3rd party collection, legal, etc.), to collect balances owed.
          • Invest own time in customer facing matters as deemed necessary to resolve the issue at hand, including order release decisions, collection disputes, alignment between Credit and those outside of Credit possessing order release authority (if any), etc.
          • Recommend changes in methods or procedures to improve the efficiency of the accounts receivable section, plus resulting special projects/duties as assigned.
          • Prepare regular recurring & ah-hoc report revolving around the departmental metrics used to measure risk management and collection performance.
          • Responds to ad-hoc report requests from Department Head, Finance leadership and other Internal 'customers' as needed.
          • Works with our external customers, as well as our internal sales/marketing/finance/manufacturing/distribution organizations to resolve payment dispute and/or deductions taken by customers that were not accrued for or otherwise authorized at the point of sale.
          • Complete performance appraisals of all direct reports, including mid-year and year-end appraisals, plus recommendations for promotions, merit increases, disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, terminations, etc.
          • Conduct and engage in structured training and development of subordinates and peers, plus 'on the job' training as deemed necessary.
          • Ensure the timely and accurate recording of customer payments, credits, deductions, reversals, etc. performed by the Cash Application team (if responsibilities include Cash App). Work Environment

            • This position is a hybrid role in the Jackson, MI office - 2 days per week.
