Description: Part-time Benefited Patient Resource Manager, RN
Registered Nurse, opportunity. Scheduled two, 12-hour shifts per
week, rotating 2 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. and 7 p.m to 7:30 a.m. The RN
Registered Nurse Patient Resource Manager (PRM)is responsible for
inpatient bed management and patient placement. They will supervise
implementation of the flexible staffing system on a shift by shift
basis. The PRM will facilitate patient access to the clinically
appropriate level of care in collaboration with other members of
the health care team through the use of clinical criteria,
utilization management and managed care processes while evaluating
care based upon quality, access and cost-effectiveness.This role
will also serve as a leadership resource as needed. This is a
part-time benefited opportunity scheduled 24 hours per week -
Scheduled two, 12-hour shifts per week 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.with a
weekend and holiday rotation. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
- Graduation from accredited nursing program: New hires as of
1/1/12 must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain
their BSN within the specified time frame.
- Requires current Michigan Nursing License.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an RN in an acute
care setting.
- Prior successful leadership experience, i.e. Shift Coordinator,
Team Leader, committee participation, or previous Case Management
experience in an Acute Care setting. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicates and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team
to develop and implement plan for continuum of care.
- Exercises clinical judgment to collect clinical and financial
data according to Case Management standards to determine
appropriate and most cost effective level of care.
- Performs utilization management review of patients' clinical
information according to established criteria and communicates
information in a timely manner to third party payers.
- Facilitates, problem solves and expedites patient placement
process and resource allocation to achieve clinically appropriate
and operationally effective outcomes.
- Demonstrates accountability for maintaining current knowledge
of rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Serves as a
resource to staff.
- Provides input into patient care practice issues through
participation in committees, work groups and projects. Actively
supports change within Patient Care Services and are open to new
ideas and responsibilities.
- Provides administrative leadership on weekends, off shifts and
holidays such as initiating emergency preparedness as defined by
