Schedule is non-standard with periodic weekend commitments.The School of Social Work is seeking a content expert and curricular lead to be the Director of the Sexual Health Certificate Program (SHCP), a non-credit professional education program administered through the Office of Continuing Education. The program is designed to meet the educational requirements for certification through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). This role reports to the SSW Director of Continuing Education.The SHCP Director, in consultation with the Director of Continuing Education, is responsible for development and implementation of the program curriculum, participant and instructor recruitment and orientation, strategic planning, and continuous quality improvement. Budget and financial operations of the program are managed by the Office of Continuing Education and the School of Social Work, in consultation with the SHCP Director.
Responsibilities*

  • Reviews applications to the program and corresponds with prospective participants
  • As program content expert, strives to ensure program content is current, comprehensive, and inclusive
  • Ensures curriculum aligns with CE approval requirements for relevant professions and AASECT training requirements
  • Recruits, schedules and evaluates instructors
  • Ensures participants meet program requirements for completion
  • Consults with an appointed interprofessional advisory board around curricular changes and strategic directions for the program
  • Represents the program at relevant conferences and professional associations for purposes of marketing, networking, and program capacity building
  • Supervises the SHCP Assistant DirectorRequired Qualifications*
    • Currently certified through the Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) and maintains at least one certification through AASECT
    • Within the past ten years, 5+ years experience as an educator in higher education settings and 3+ years experience in an administrative leadership role
    • Demonstrated commitment to sexual health and related areas
    • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in education and practice
    • Competence in teaching online
    • Bachelor's degree in a related fieldDesired Qualifications*
      • Advanced degree in social work, education, or health-related field
      • Experience with continuing education approval and accreditation
      • Familiarity with universal design for learning and inclusive teaching principles
      • Experience with Zoom, Canvas, the Google suite, and data management systems
