Summary To perform all job responsibilities while maintaining the highest standards of service excellence and patient confidentiality in UHS Health Information Management Services. To retrieve, file, deliver and scan medical records in a timely manner. Greeting and registering patients who wish to use the University Health Service. Responsibilities* * Participate in and consistently demonstrate an understanding of UHS Service Excellence * Collect and verify patient demographic including name, date of birth, Social Security Number, sex, address, phone, language, marital status, ethnicity, race, religion, emergency contacts and primary care provider * Offer and/or obtain signatures for consents/forms eg. notice of privacy practices, assignment of medical benefits, general consent to receive healthcare services * Verify patient eligibility and U of M student enrollment status * Greet patients, family members, visitors and employees and offer assistance in whatever way possible in a professional and friendly manner Required Qualifications* * Knowledge of standard medical terminology. * Ability to work independently on a team with minimal supervision. * Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines. * Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills. Desired Qualifications* * Experience working in a patient care environment. * Experience using healthcare information systems/applications eg. MiChart registration etc. Additional Information This role may have reporting obligations under Title IX and Clery. Salary may vary depending on qualifications, experience, and education of the selected candidate.
