Job Summary
The Adult Inpatient Psychiatry Unit (9C) offers inpatient
diagnostic evaluations and comprehensive treatment plans to
patients with serious psychiatric disorders.
Treatment planning includes recommendations for appropriate
psychotherapeutic, psychosocial and psychopharmacological
(medication) treatments, with vocational treatments following
discharge. We emphasize coordinating these recommendations with
ongoing or subsequent psychiatric management. Patients also may be
invited to participate in a variety of approved diagnostic and
treatment research programs. We are actively engaged in research in
the areas of schizophrenia, psycho-immunology and affective
disorders.
9C offers a creative staffing model to their nurses to promote
optimal continuity of care for their patients. A newly renovated
space, 9C promotes a healing and caring environment for both
patients and families.

Salary range for Registered Nurses
Hourly range for Registered Nurses (0-11 months experience)
$33.58/hr
Hourly range for Registered Nurses (12+ months experience)
$33.64-$52.08
Evening Shift Differential- $2.55 per hour
Night Shift Differential- $3.40 per hour
Weekend Differential- $1.75 per hour

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at
time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be
interviewed and considered for the position.

Required Qualifications*
Current Michigan RN license
1.5 years of psych RN experience
NOTE: In order to be considered for this position the applicant
must have met or will have met all the required qualifications
prior to the start date of employment.

for this position.

Desired Qualifications*
BSN
Experience in the utilization of Welle training
Demonstrated knowledge of cognitive behavioral treatment of
depression and other psychiatric disorders
Demonstrated excellence in communication skills
Work Schedule
Hours/Week: 32 hours/week (0.8 FTE)
Shift: Night shift; every weekend commitment, 8 hour shifts
Location: University Hospital-9C, Adult Psychiatry
All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s)
in times of low census.
