Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, visionary SLP who is
motivated to inspire our individuals with autism and their families
to succeed. The SLP will be responsible for speech and language
evaluations and treatment of children ages 2-18 with Autism
Spectrum Disorder, articulation and phonology impairment, receptive
and/or expressive language impairment, fluency and voice disorders,
pragmatic dysfunction and Augmentative & Alternative Communication
(AAC) needs. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and determine diagnostic impression with a range of
diagnostic tests, as appropriate, for receptive language,
expressive language, articulation and phonology, fluency and voice
as well as through interviews, clinical observation and informal
methods
- Develop speech and language goals/objectives
- Develop and implement therapeutic interventions to assist with
communication dysfunctions addressed within treatment plan
- Analyze and interpret progress related to treatment plan and
adjust goals/objectives and/or therapeutic approach as
appropriate
- Identify appropriate Augmentative and Communication devices
(both high and low tech) and compensatory skills; develop,
implement, monitor and adjust, as needed, training plan
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position and
other duties as assigned Consultation Duties & Responsibilities:
- The SLP will consult with treatment team on behavior
modification and speech and language programing. This consultation
will be provided through:
- Weekly meetings with Clinical Directors
- Consultation on development of speech and language
programing
- Provides initial and ongoing trainings for all staff in the
areas of speech and language Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- License in Speech-Language Pathology with the State of
Michigan
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Demonstrates advances understanding of behavioral principles
and instructional strategies for students with autism and other
behavior disorders
- Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication
(AAC)
- Experience working with a multidisciplinary team
- Experience across a variety of age ranges and abilities
- Knowledge of literacy intervention for students with moderate
to severe disabilities Schedule & Compensation:
- Hours of Operation: Monday - Thursday 8am - 6:30pm, Fridays 8am
- 4:30pm
