experience) $33.58/hr Hourly range for Registered Nurses (12+
months experience) $33.64-$52.08/hr
Evening Shift Differential- $2.55 per hour
Night Shift Differential- $3.40 per hour
Weekend Differential- $1.75 per hour

Responsibilities*
This is a DECENTRALIZED FLOAT RN position which includes staffing
assignments in multiple adult, surgical specialty ambulatory
clinics. These include but are not limited to the following
areas:
Urology
Taubman
LCSC
Chelsea
West Shore (remote work only)
Otolaryngology
Taubman
LCSC Specialty Clinic
LCSC Facial Cosmetics/Vocal Health
Surgery
Minimally Invasive (MIS)/Bariatric Surgery
Colorectal Surgery (CRS)
Acute Care Surgery I (ACS I)
Acute Care Surgery II (ACS II)-Non-Trauma, Trauma, and Burn
Endocrine Surgery (GSE)
Thoracic Surgery (THSU)
Hepatobiliary (HPB)
Domino Farms Wound Care Clinic
Domino Farms Plastics
Chelsea Surgical Specialties (CRS/MIS/Bariatrics)

The DECENTRALIZED FLOAT RN will:
Provide coordinated FLOAT nursing care to adult surgical patients
and their families in the specialty settings noted above.
Participate as a member of a collaborative and multi-disciplinary
team in fast-paced surgically based clinics to provide efficient
and effective care.
Provide tele-health nursing care to include triage calls, portal
messaging from patients, families, clinicians, and other healthcare
team members.
Perform pre-operative teaching, counseling and obtain informed
consent for a variety of surgical procedures.
Complete postoperative telephone consultations.
Assist with a variety of procedures, participate in clinic support
of physicians and support assistive staff as needed.

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at
time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be
interviewed and considered for the position.

Required Qualifications*
As evidenced by interviews, recent performance appraisals and
reference feedback: Current license to practice Nursing in the
State of Michigan. Minimum of 2 years (within past 5 years) RN
experience providing direct inpatient or outpatient care to the
adult surgical patient population
NOTE: In order to be considered for this position the applicant
must have met or will have met all the required qualifications
prior to the start date of employment.

Desired Qualifications*
Recent ambulatory care experience inclusive of tele-health
experience, within the last two years. Previous experience as a
float nurse. Experience with care coordination and managing complex
patient populations. Broad range of clinical experience.
Demonstrated excellence in communication skills; both verbal and
written. Demonstrated excellence in critical thinking skills and
problem solving skills in daily practice: assessment, planning,
intervention and evaluation of care. Demonstrated customer service
and conflict management skills. Demonstrated ability to establish
collaborative practice with multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated
ability to function independently. Demonstrated skills to organize
and manage multiple interventions simultaneously understanding
acuity and urgency in prioritizing duties. Demonstrated flexibility
in accepting changing clinical assignments on short notice.
Proficiency in computer and keyboarding skills, using an electronic
medical record, and Microsoft Office and calendaring
experience.
Reliable transportation to drive to varying clinic locations
Work Schedule
Hours: 8 hour shifts, 40 hours per week
Days/ Shift: Day shift; variable days and hours depending on clinic
needs
Location: Varies based on assignment- includes Taubman, Livonia,
Chelsea, and Domino Farms and may expande to include other
locations based on growth of the departments of otolaryngology,
surgery, urology, and/or ophthalmology.
Note: All new employees will be expected to float to a designated
unit(s) in times of low census.
