Job Description:
Job Summary
This is a multi-unit RN position, which involves staffing
assignments on multiple units, per the agreement with UMPNC,
Section H, page 55, Multi-Unit Positions.
Units for this position include Trauma Burn ICU and 4D Neuro ICU.
The home unit will be Trauma Burn ICU; holidays and PTO will be
determined from the home unit. The RN can be scheduled on both
units, based on the unit's staffing needs and will be expected to
staff on either unit, as needed.

Salary range for Registered Nurses
Hourly range for Registered Nurses (0-11 months experience)
$33.58/hr
Hourly range for Registered Nurses (12+ months experience)
$33.64-$52.08/hr
Evening Shift Differential- $2.55 per hour
Night Shift Differential- $3.40 per hour
Weekend Differential- $1.75 per hour

Responsibilities*
The Trauma Burn Program is a Level 1 Trauma Center and verified
Burn Center, certified by the American College of Surgeons. It has
a 10 bed ICU and 6 bed acute care unit.
Adult and pediatric patients are admitted to the burn center. Adult
trauma patients are admitted who have sustained multiple trauma and
non-trauma emergency illnesses.
Nurses provide safe and effective nursing care to an assigned
patient population.
Have the ability to function as part of a health team and also work
closely with patient families.
In April of 2021, Michigan Medicine's Trauma Burn ICU received the
Silver Beacon Award from AACN!

Nursing Specific Info
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at
time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.

Required Qualifications*
Current Michigan RN license.
***GN applicants will be considered. The selected candidate must
have successfully passed the NCLEX and be licensed as a RN in the
State of Michigan before effective date of hire.

must have met or will have met all the required qualifications
prior to the start date of employment.

Desired Qualifications*
Two (2) or more years experience with trauma and/or burn
patients.
CCRN and/or ACLS certification.
Possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
BSN preferred
Work Schedule
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shifts: Nights, 8 & 12 hr shifts, every other weekend
All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s)
in times of low census.
Union Affiliation
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement
between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M
Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all
matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and
conditions of employment.
