Responsibilities
We are actively seeking highly qualified candidates who will
provide compassionate care to adult patient populations in the
Medical Procedures Unit at the University Hospital, East Ann Arbor
MPU, Brighton Center for Specialty Care MPU, and Northville MPU.
Candidates should be enthusiastic and patient-oriented individuals
who are interested in creating the ideal experience for our
patients, families, and employees, reporting directly to a Nursing
Supervisor.
Provide patient care to patients receiving various medical
procedures including, but not limited to endoscopy procedures.
Coordinate nursing care between the pre-procedure, procedure and
post procedures phases.
Administer sedation/analgesia under the direction of a
physician.
Assess and document hemodynamic status during sedation and recovery
periods. Initiate peripheral intravenous lines.

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at
time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be
interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled
after the initial 5-day posting period.

service along with effort. Positions less than 20 hours/week may be
combined.

Work Schedule
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift: Days; 10 hour shifts; Variable days and variable hours
between 7 am- 10 pm, day/evening/weekend rotation.
Some evening and weekend on-call required
Some Holiday on-call required
Location: Medical Procedures Unit, University Hospital, Brighton
Center for Specialty Care, East Ann Arbor MPU, and Northville
MPU
This is a multi-unit RN position, which involves staffing
assignments on multiple units. Units for this position include
Brighton Center for Specialty Care MPU, East Ann Arbor MPC,
Northville Health Center MPU and University Hospital MPU. The home
unit will be University Hospital MPU. Seniority based decisions
will be determined from the home unit, University Hospital MPU.
All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s)
in times of low census.
Union Affiliation
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement
between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M
Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all
matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and
conditions of employment.
Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment
