Job Title: Nursing Supervisor
Classification: Full-time, hourly, non-exempt
Starting Wage $40.00/hr plus $3.20/hr Hazard Pay
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the monitoring and
treatment of patients in sub-acute detoxification and for provision
of medical services for patients in residential treatment. This is
done under the direction and supervision of the Provider-in-Charge
and in coordination with the Clinical Supervisor. The Nursing
Supervisor reports to the Clinical Director of Adult Services and
takes direction from the Medical Director and the Clinical Director
of Adult Services. The Nursing Supervisor works with the Clinical
Supervisor and the HCA Coordinator, to assure adequate staffing and
appropriate scheduling of admissions and care of clients.

Supervision Exercised: Nurses, Assistant Nursing Supervisor
Tasks/Responsibilities:
Serve as Department Leader and role model to promote excellence and
safety.
Assure access to care services in accordance with policy and
procedures.
Assure medical services on-site as necessary in accordance with
standard policy and procedures.
Assure training of staff according to CARF, State of Michigan, and
Community Healing Centers policy and standards.
Assure compliance of rules and laws of licensing, according to the
Center of Substance Abuse Services, under Public Acts 55 & 56 of
the State of Michigan.
Approve staff timecards.
Serve on committees or task forces, etc., as directed.
Assure compliance with Infection Control Policies and
Procedures.
Embrace, support, and implement Community Healing Center's vision
and values related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, required.
Previous supervisory experience in the nursing field required.
Education or experience in the treatment of chemical
dependency.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, program
and services as they relate to the provision of services.
Working knowledge of the systems-of-services needed to address the
needs of people with mental illness and/or substance abuse issues
and the ability to coordinate care between those programs.
Competencies:
Strong nursing skills and ability to engage in positive therapeutic
relationships, required.
Sound judgment and problem-solving skills and the ability to handle
stressful situations calmly and professionally.
Ability to interact professionally with a diverse population
including staff, clients and visitors.
Must be able to follow, role model and enforce rules.
Supervise and Coach the Nursing Team.
Other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director of Adult
Services.
BLS or CPR, required.
Working Conditions:
Direct contact with clients with mental health and substance
use/abuse disorders.
Injectable drug abusers are at high risk for tuberculosis infection
and other illnesses. All staff are required to be screened for
tuberculosis and understand that exposure to tuberculosis is
possible.
Flu and Covid-19 Vaccines, required. Covid-19 booster,
preferred.
Work will be performed indoors in a climate-controlled
Environment.
Some weekend and off shift work required.
Physical activities including standing, lifting (up to 50 pounds
unassisted), bending, stooping, twisting, pushing and pulling,
prolonged standing and handling of hazardous materials. Must be
physically capable of responding to medical emergencies.
