Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/16/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: /n RN - Med Surg /n/n Job Details: /n • Work on medical oncology unit caring for patients with cancer diagnosis, medical step-down patients, and general medical overflow /n• Regularly assess patient needs and provide skilled nursing services according to physician-authorized plan of care /n• Provide direct patient care including nursing assessment, medication administration, treatments, call lights, transfers, and alarm responses /n• Evaluate treatment plan effectiveness and collaborate with team members to update and revise patient care plans /n• Process physician/provider orders and perform ordered care accurately and timely /n• Follow up on medication changes and order clarifications /n• Every other weekend schedule required /n• No on-call responsibilities /n• 2 years of Med Surg experience required /n• Oncology experience required /n• Must be comfortable taking step-down patients /n• Prior travel work history highly preferred /n• Epic EMR experience highly preferred /n• Must have basic knowledge of cancer pathophysiology /n• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA) /n• Active Michigan nursing license required /n• Skills checklist current to 1 year required /n• Two supervisory reference forms completed within last two years required /n• Must live outside 50-mile radius from facility /n/n Facility: /n This healthcare organization operates a comprehensive medical oncology unit that provides specialized care for cancer patients alongside medical step-down and general medical overflow patients.
