Internal posting onlyThe Enerprise Application System Administrator
is responsible for resolving work requests and completing projects
that improve specific business functions for customers using the
applications supported by Enterprise Technologies including
Colleague, ILP, Recruit Integration, Colleague Reporting and
Operating Analytics, Colleague Self-Service, Astra Schedule,
ImageNow and other applications. Serves as a subject matter expert
for the Colleague application. Performs the role of lead strategist
to integrate Ellucian product roadmaps with college systems and
workflow.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other
duties may be assigned. Advances IT operations with an informed
vision of future technologies. Frequently confers with vendors
(primarily with Ellucian) to understand and promote useful product
roadmaps that are compatible with college infrastructure and labor
talent/availability. Monitors product lifecycle to maintain
continuous vendor support and completes upgrade/replacement
projects prior to support expiration. Develops business solutions
using products that have been well adopted in the industry.
Minimizes risk associated with onboarding untested products. Match
business needs with best-in-class solutions. Collaborates with peer
institutions to exchange knowledge and share best practices.
Focuses on customer needs specific to Colleague, Colleague
Reporting & Operating Analytics, Colleague Self-Service, Astra
Schedule, ImageNow and other applications. Responsible for
resolving work requests and completing projects. Responsible for
monitoring the account provisioning and LMS provisioning processes
and troubleshooting any provisioning problems. Supports the
development, enhancement, and maintenance of Colleague solutions
based on end-user needs. Acts as a liaison between user groups to
identify business processes, systems, and system requirements.
Documents, anticipates, researches, identifies, and develops
solutions to customer problems. Initiates measures to eliminate
non-value-added activities through process improvement. Reviews
administrative system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling
limitations to determine if requested program changes and
enhancements are possible within the existing system. Consults with
end-users to gather information about program intent, functions,
features, input and output data requirements, internal and external
checks and controls, and interfaces with other systems. Designs
program specifications. Provides assistance to technical support
staff helping customers with errors, problems, or questions about
Colleague programs and features. Routinely trains end users and/or
technical support staff to use information technology services and
features. Leads efforts to evaluate end users for their applied
knowledge of these products. Works with and often leads teams on
projects involving the distribution and use of Information
Technology labor and technical resources. Develops database query
statements and data extraction files based on specifications or
user requests. Assists end users with reporting needs including
defining, designing, writing, and implementation of new queries
that extract information from the college's administrative systems.
Resolves second level work requests. Completes task assignments and
modifies priority levels based on service impact and customer
needs. Evaluate proposals to assess project feasibility and
requirements. Determines work scope, cost, and duration; ensure
that college strategic goals are addressed in project planning
efforts. Promotes standards for quality and quantity of individual
and team-based work. Creates written documentation and web-based
materials for the promotion and explanation of systems, services,
and operations. Co-develops, implements, and monitors Enterprise
Technologies policies and controls to ensure data accuracy,
structure, security, and legal and regulatory compliance. Report
all information security threats and activities that may compromise
or destroy data to IT management in a timely manner. Participates
and supports institutional and technology strategic/quality
planning and monitoring efforts. Recommends end users to be
centrally funded for professional development opportunities at
local, regional, and national training events and conferences.
Directs preparation and filing of legal documents relating to
agreements with IT service agencies, providers, and auditors.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no direct supervisory
responsibilities. May assign work to other department employees
while functioning as project manager and may direct the work of
student employees. CONTACTS AND PURPOSE OF CONTACTS Internal:
Frequent contact with college personnel within and outside
department in a planning, coordinating, information sharing,
problem solving, and technical specification capacity. External:
Regular contact with vendors, consultants, and colleagues at other
colleges and universities regarding technology and service
activities.
