May Mobility is a self-driving technology company working to transform today's mobility landscape, by starting with a niche market: low-speed shuttles for public roadways. Our vehicles are on the streets of Detroit, Columbus, and Providence navigating complex downtown scenarios and transporting thousands of people on their daily commute every week. Your Opportunity to Drive Success

May Mobility is entering into an exciting phase of growth as we expand our first-of-its-kind autonomous shuttle and mobility services across the nation. We are looking for a Vice President of Vehicle Engineering to oversee Vehicle Engineering and Product Development, Production, Launch, and Fleet Solutions Engineering teams. This role will report directly to the Chief Product Officer.

Responsibilities

Leads multiple vehicle engineering and production teams, oversees departmental KPIs, budgets, and people management activities

Leads teams in creating the main PoC for vehicle engineering projects and new features related to the current fleet product

Ensures close coordination between product management and production, as well as launch, quality, support, and operations activities

Champions efficiency, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction in the fleet product

Creates multi-year detailed plans for fleet product rollout and growth

Works directly with C-suite, directors, and managers to set company vehicle strategy

Required Qualifications

BS in an Engineering discipline or equivalent

7+ years experience working on vehicle engineering solutions related to getting products into the real world

Demonstrated people management experience, including hiring, onboarding, retention, coaching, and team building

Experience setting strategy for vehicle product rollouts and execution

Experience working with safety-critical products, preferably automotive or aerospace

In-depth understanding of the autonomous vehicle, electric vehicle, and mobility landscape

Excellent written and oral communications skills

Desirable Qualifications

MS degree, preferably in Engineering or Business

Startup experience

Autonomous vehicle technology experience

Has led teams in creating a from concept to market launch in a large automotive company

Has led teams in driving continuous improvements into a vehicle after its in market
