Arbor, MIPosition SummaryManage a team of 4- 6 procurement buyers
to achieve procurement operations excellence goals. Identify and
implement Category and Procurement strategies within business
operations. Perform market and trends analyses to conduct
benchmarking activities and business intelligence and partner with
the procurement category managers to instill cost savings and
operational improvement practices. Enhance the total Procurement
value sourced from the Category's supply base by driving
standardization, consolidation, optimization and product
substitution tactics across key procurement categories. Negotiate
contracts and achieve cost savings from vendors in key indirect
categories. Strive for elevated level of Procure to Pay (P2P) and
Procurement performance with desire and demonstration of capability
to move into progressively advanced procurement positions. Review
and approve ordering of necessary goods and services and finalize
order details and deliveries. Manage and drive supplier performance
and continuous improvement programs with plant and Category
leaders. Review discrepancies in supplier performance and cost
competitiveness, and initiate process changes to optimize costs
including acquisition of new suppliers, and consolidation of spend.
Manage relationships with plant stakeholders to implement P2P and
Procurement strategies, while aligning with operational strategic
plans. Lead and implement P2P supplier catalog improvements to
support further productivity improvement and cost reductions.
Engage in sustained communication and end user training initiatives
to drive message of compliance and "doing things right the first
time". Govern an automated invoice reconciliation process for
purchase orders, goods receipts, and contracts, resulting in nearly
complete acceptance and accuracy. Deliver P2P sustainable business
value including supply assurance, cost, quality, service and
innovation to meet business needs.ResponsibilitiesStrategy and
operational excellence* Identify sourcing requirements for plants
and implement appropriate tactics that combine sharing the spares,
product substitution, directing spend to preferred suppliers,
reduce reliance on OEM suppliers, leveraging repair and rebuild of
parts * Lead analysis of market and competitive conditions, and
provide input to category managers in the formulation of strategies
for indirect categories and sourcing activities* Design and
implement tactical action steps to execute on indirect category and
Procurement Point team strategies for the company* Manage supplier
base across the Plants. Leverage plant spend across regions and
globally if appropriate * Identify opportunities for consolidation
of spend on company's P2P solution (Ariba), and design and
implement strategies to expand the solution footprint to other
categories, geographies and suppliers * Manage a curriculum of
relevant supplier and co-worker training materials by developing
new and/or updating existing content* Lead delivery of routine
training to suppliers and co-workersNegotiations and compliance
monitoring* Enhance the relationship with suppliers in an
innovative way to maximise value* Select, prepare and execute
commercial agreements relevant to the category indirect categories
in scope, specifically spares and consumables, professional
services, office supplies* Manage negotiation process, content and
results in alignment with company's procurement policies* Engage
with category managers on supplier pricing issues and where updates
to contracts are needed as the business needs evolve* Monitor
compliance of plants to company's finance, procurement and data
management policies, and escalate non-compliance to appropriate
finance and procurement category managers/directors for further
guidance and appropriate remedial action Relationship Management*
Manage relationship with key stakeholders to develop and implement
effective sourcing strategies for the relevant indirect categories
to ensure quality of services and improved value to the company*
Build strong rapport with plant operational stakeholders and local
suppliers* Establish Procurement cross-functional teams to
negotiate and implement improved operational and commercial supply
outcomes for the business and customers* Collaborate closely with
relevant plants to ensure understanding and compliance with key
procurement and Procurement Point Team strategiesProject
management* Strong bias for action* Manage a set of initiatives in
a dynamic and constantly evolving tactical procurement landscape*
Structured thinking, planning of projects from their inception to
flawless delivery against milestones and deadlines * Identify

compliance, product substitution, inventory management. Define and
implement necessary corrective actions * Track and report
Procurement savings, support procure-to-pay process improvement
within the Plants, monitor TCO improvement as well as working
capital improvement using the tracking tools in place* Provide ad
hoc reports and forecasts on P2P and Procurement project
performance vs plan. Track P2P KPI performance, including trend
reporting and corrective action execution when neededPersonnel
management* Players coach with strong bias for nurturing and
developing talent.* Direct 4-6 indirect regional buyers in the
process of management of purchase requisitions, handling
escalations, management of purchase order or invoice exceptions,
expedite deliveries, resolution of supplier quality issues and
adjust supply chain as required* Manage workload among the regional
buyers to ensure timely supply of goods and services to their
respective plants* Responsible for hiring, goal setting,
performance evaluation and career growth plans for direct reports*
Regularly assess skills requirement to effectively manage tactical
execution of indirect procurement categories and manage appropriate
training and development plan to address skills gaps, if
anyQualifications* Bachelor's degree in business or related field
is a must (MBA preferred)* 5+ years of relevant experience in
engineering or manufacturing industry* 3 - 5 years of managerial
experience working in Procurement or Supply Chain Management
functions* Experience with Lean, Six Sigma process improvement
methodologies or similar * Expert knowledge of procurement
processes and supplier quality systems * Experience working in a
large, complex multi-location manufacturing organization* Advanced
knowledge and hands-on experience with SAP - Ariba, ERP and MDM
systems* Demonstrated effectiveness using Microsoft Outlook, Excel,
PowerPoint and Word at advanced competency level* Strong
action/results orientation with the ability to work with minimal
oversight, to be self-motivated and proactive in achieving
individual/team objectives * Motivate, coach, develop and lead
direct reports and effectively lead team of 5 - 6 buyers*
Demonstrated effective problem-solving and analytical skills*
Proven ability to communicate, influence others and manage multiple
resources * Excellent verbal and written communication skills and
