Hands-on position in a low volume/high mix assembly & test environment.Collaborate closely with Product Development during new-product design and introduction.Review existing and new product designs. Recommend changes to enhance product quality, improve yield and manufacturability, eliminate variation, and reduce cost.Implement and continuously improve manufacturing processes. Streamline processes and eliminate waste by utilizing value engineering, cost saving ideas and failure root cause analysis.Design and implement assembly fixtures, jigs, and test setups used in production. Review the ergonomics and safety of the production area and the material condition of existing fixtures.Perform moderately complex equipment installations and qualifications. Implement equipment PM schedules. Perform or coordinate corrective maintenance efforts on equipment as required.Provide product documentation inputs, including BOM mark-ups, assembly procedures, and test procedures. Provide labor and material inputs in support of product costing.Perform time studies on process and equipment to optimize WIP movement.Train production employees in manufacturing processes and the operation of equipment.Provide direct manufacturing engineering support to the production floor. Investigate and correct technical problems that occur during assembly and test operations.Participate in new material qualifications and vendor certifications.Requirements:BS in engineering or equivalent, plus a minimum of 8 years direct experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in an electronics or optoelectronics production environment. Automatic wire bonding and die attach experience is required.Capable of following manufacturing procedures and performing hands on assembly of manufacturing prototypesCapable of training operators in process operations.Thorough working knowledge of electronic/optoelectronic assembly processes and materials including lead-free reflow soldering, hand soldering, eutectic die-attach, epoxy attach, and wire-bonding.Electronic circuit design, PCB layout, mechanical design and CAD skillsAbility to complete multiple projects on schedule with minimal supervision.Structured team-oriented problem-solving skills.Strong hands-on approach to solving manufacturing problems.Strong understanding and practical application of Lean/6 Sigma Manufacturing / Kaizen / SPC.Proficiency with Microsoft Office softwarePluses:PFMEA, PCP and OCAP creating and utilizationStrong background in fiber-optic data communications.JMP software proficiency LabView software proficiencySDL2017
