Company Overview Calling the adventurers ready to join a company
that's pushing the limits of nanotechnology to keep the digital
revolution rolling. At KLA, we're making technology advancements
that are biggerand tinierthan the world has ever seen. Who are we?
We research, develop, and manufacture the world's most advanced
inspection and measurement equipment for the semiconductor and
nanoelectronics industries. We enable the digital age by pushing
the boundaries of technology, creating tools capable of finding
defects smaller than a wavelength of visible light. We create
smarter processes so that technology leaders can manufacture
high-performance chipsthe kind in that phone in your pocket, the
tablet on your desk and nearly every electronic device you
ownfaster and better. We're passionate about creating solutions
that drive progress and help people do what wouldn't be possible
without us. The future is calling. Will you answer?
With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience,
chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs
ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and
cost-effectively. KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is
responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection
products, is looking for forward-thinking research scientists,
software engineers, application development engineers, and senior
product technology process engineers to join our team and enable
the movement towards advanced chip design.
Central Engineering is KLA's largest engineering organization
comprised of several Centers-of-Excellence (CoE) in various
disciplines applied across all product groups in the company. These
CoE include Handling & Automation, Precision Motion Control,
Sensors & Image Acquisition, Platform Design, and Packaging
Engineering, among others. Our group includes over 700 engineers
across global centers in Israel, China, India, and the US. Each CoE
contributes not just talent and deliverables toward product
programs, but also domain expertise, roadmaps, specialized
facilities, apparatus, models, and analytics. These differentiate
KLA not only in WHAT we do, but also in HOW we do it.
KLA is looking for high-energy interns for several exciting
projects this coming summer in our Ann Arbor, Michigan location.
This position provides a unique opportunity to learn about
industrial equipment for the semiconductor industry. Specifically,
this position provides an opportunity to perform hands-on work and

inspection tools. The individual in this role will work
self-motivated in a team with other interns and engineers on a
specific aspect of a larger project.
In this position, the candidate would work on designing,
documenting and procuring parts for stand-alone test fixtures and
tools. They would be working in a team setting collaborating with
engineers and other interns from different disciplines such as
electrical engineering, optical engineering and computer science.
The candidates will design 3D CAD models of parts and assemblies.
Engineering documentation as well as basic analytical modeling will
be required. Furthermore, it is expected that the candidate will
assemble and test the designs in a laboratory environment.
The successful candidate should have taken classes in mechanical
design and manufacturing and have basic knowledge using CAD
programs. Experience with ProE/Creo is a plus. The candidate should
have strong analytical capabilities, strong written and verbal
communication and interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate
