ONLINE FACULTY for the MIBOA Program

This job posting is only open to current Ross employees

Job Summary

Online Faculty members work under the direction of the Online Director of Education and provide quality delivery of assigned courses using curriculum provided by Ross. Online Faculty may use synchronous and asynchronous learning tools. Faculty are responsible for preparing progress reports, providing adequate meeting time with students, and performing related work as required. Faculty should be highly knowledgeable about the subject matter for the specific course(s) they are assigned to teach and maintain expertise in the subject area.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Instruction

* Leads and manages students in the virtual classroom * Utilizes contemporary teaching strategies and practices * Meet or exceed the following requirements: participate in threaded discussion 3 days a week, grade all assignments within 72 hours, respond to student emails within 24 hours, and respond to administrative contact within 24 hours. * Provides timely, detailed and individual feedback on all assignments * Communicates, supports, and enforces school policies and procedures. * Maintains a professional attitude and online presence at all times and follows Ross Code of Ethics and Faculty Code of Conduct.

Preparation

* Accurately records grades and successful completion of proficiencies * Works additional time, as needed, for individual student needs * Completes all new faculty training * Completes an Instructor Professional Development Plan (IPDP) each year * Attends formal and informal faculty/staff meetings * Informs Director of Online Education immediately of unsatisfactory academic student progress, discipline or attitude problems, and occurrences that warrant discussion * Under direction of Director of Online Education, provides additional support to students on "satisfactory progress warning" or "mid-progress alert" * Participates in school events regarding student retention and placement * Performs related work as required * Completes a minimum of one continuing education and/or professional growth activity each year * Attends a minimum of two in-service activities per fiscal year (July 1 to June 30)

Requirements

Instructors of MIBOA Online Courses must possess the following:

* Current professional certification in the Medical Billing and Coding field, such as a CBCS or CPC * Graduation from a diploma program or higher in the field in which they teach, accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education, the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or an otherwise recognized training entity in the specialty field. * Three years or more of occupational work experience in the subject field * Online teaching or student experience. Please list on your resume what your online experience is, any special training and work or student experience you have had. * Ross teaching experience

* Ability to communicate effectively - you will need to connect with your students by email, phone, text, and social media. * Excellent interpersonal skills * Attention to detail and a passion for quality * Your own personal computer and high speed Internet connection * Must be able to meet requirements for student communication & response during each week
