Accounts Receivable Specialist

General Job Purpose:

This role is responsible for the reconciliation and posting of all payments received, identify discrepancies and analyze issues to ensure all payments are posted timely. Other responsibilities include preparing and submitting check request to corporate finance, processing electronic requests in multiple systems and platforms, and preparing and submitting spreadsheets

What you will be working on:

  • Responsible for billing claims on assigned schedule.
  • Accounts Receivable follow up.
  • Perform month end closing procedure within established time frame.
  • Communicate with Manager regarding payer and account issues in a timely manner.
  • Monitor accounts for other opportunities to collect payments at time of service (i.e. co pays, deductibles, and coinsurance).
  • Enter all appropriate comments in software system clearly and concisely for tracking documentation.
  • Responsible for working with patients on outstanding balances and responding to patient phone calls timely.
  • Other tasks as assigned

      What you know:

      To be successful in this role you will have the following experience or knowledge:
      • High school diploma or equivalent
      • Minimum 6-9 months of Healthcare Claims / Medical Billing processing experience
      • Good understanding of CPT and ICD-10 codes and Modifiers
      • Good knowledge of Medical Insurance plans
      • Strong inter-personal skills
      • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
      • Basic accounting skills

        • The work schedule varies Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day
