Our mission is guided by our Strategic Principles and has three critical components; patient care, education and research that together enhance our contribution to society.Responsibilities*Advanced MiChart responsibilities Maintain responsibility for MiChart grids Manage complex billing and referral work queues Template editor, including provider template submission & changes MiChart Reporting functions; ability to run MiChart reports and analyze as needed Oversee assigned MiChart In-Basket Coordinate faculty schedules Maintain Resident staffing schedules Maintain up to date and detailed scheduling requirements for provider templates High-functioning scheduler has the ability to make complex scheduling decisions and coordination across departmentsProvide complex clerical support services Schedules patient appointments Assist providers and patients with virtual visits Follow up with patients after services Process Provider time off requests Obtaining and tracking pre-appointment records; including but not limited to lab and diagnostic results, appointment clearances, progress notes, etc. Conducts insurance authorizations for visits and testing, medications and DME Manage clinical databases, if applicable Responding to concerns, questions, and complaints from patientsGeneral Office Support Prepare and distribute patient education materials and other general office functions i.e. Fax server monitoring, copy and image documents etc. Other general office functions Coordinate the acquisition and distribution of patient testing and education materials for the Psychology providers across multiple clinic locations Other general office functions i.e. Fax server monitoring, copy and image documents etc. Manage, coordinate, and maintain external relationship with Outreach clinics (non-um clinics), if applicableParticipate in team/clinical meetingsRequired Qualifications* High School Diploma or GED 3-4 Years of experience Knowledge of basic medical terminology Prior experience performing complex schedulin g Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team setting Communicates effectively Demonstrates active listening, written, verbal and information technology skills Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, multi-disciplinary clinical setting. Demonstrated excellent attendance Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Outlook Expected to be proficient in identifying problems, seeking and implementing solutionsDesired Qualifications* Familiarity with obtaining medical records and professional medical billing Prior authorization experience for healthcare patients Experience working within a large complex healthcare setting Familiarity with UMHS electronic medical record systems Knowledge of UMHS policies and proceduresAdditional InformationThis job posting is for a University of Michigan Temporary position.
