is required for consideration for this position. Ideal portfolio
will be a mix of eye-catching infographics, bar-graphs, pie charts,
timelines, flowcharts or other data visualization and/or designed
page layouts that support a narrative. Submitted portfolio should
demonstrate your skills as a graphic designer, with a high
sensibility and a keen eye in translating data resulting in
creative beautiful visual solutions. The portfolio can be submitted
as a personal website, or a pdf. Summary As our
Editorial/Infographic Designer, you will help translate the stories
and concepts of Michigan Engineering's impact into stunning and
highly legible visual compositions. Reporting to the Creative
Design Manager, you will be a driving force in interpreting
concepts into visual solutions to further the Michigan Engineering
brand. Your work will include infographics, data visualizations and
editorial designs that will be showcased in marketing materials,
videos, websites, social media, print and many more applications.
What You'll Do You Will Bring creative ideas to life with smart,
compelling designs Know how to marry the power of data with
appealing visuals to tell interesting and compelling stories in
print and other formats. Lean into data and find a compelling angle
for how to visually show those insights, creating a visual design
to present the information as a user journey. Create and develop
visuals that are appropriate across different audiences and various
platforms (print, web, social media). Help be a visual storyteller
- on brand and on message Brainstorm with writers, designers and
other team members Translate and present visual solutions to
stakeholders and collaborators Create, edit and maintain templates
that empower brand stewards Use a strong sense of craft and
typographic sensibility Other responsibilities include: Track and
complete work assignments sent to the office---s online ticketing
system Working collaboratively with designers, writers, editors and
others on the C&M team Stay on top of design and data

experience minimum with a Bachelor's degree in Visual
Communication/Graphic Design or equivalent educational and work
experience in publication/editorial design and working in the realm
of information graphic design, data design and/or visual
storytelling. Proficiency within the Adobe Creative Suite
(InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). Experience in building design
elements for beautiful infographics that blend narrative
copywriting with data and creative design. Experience in creating
templates so items can be adjusted without re-creating the artwork
and can be disseminated on multiple applications (print, web,
social media). Demonstrated ability to design creative and scalable
visual solutions. Good understanding of best practices and
accessibility. The ability to positively translate feedback into
improved work. Desired Qualifications Proficient with Mac Platform
Knowledge of additional software, such as Adobe Creative Cloud
Express. Experience working with Google tools. Background Screening
