Group/Division The Office of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) plays a critical role in developing advanced long-range technology in collaboration with product divisions and strategic marketing, working on future technology like light sources, lasers, and sensors. We are engaged in the research and development process, and once the technology is mature, we partner with product engineering groups who then build products based on the technology we've developed. The Office of the CTO also provides technical input into KLA's strategic planning process, program reviews and Product Life Cycle (PLC) phases. We provide our broad technology expertise and cross-division experience to ensure we leverage the collective knowledge within our company.Job Description/Preferred Qualifications Group/Division Are you looking to work with a core group of scientists and engineers which are both passionate and encouraged to be curious? We play a central role in developing sophisticated long-range technology in collaboration with product divisions and strategic marketing, working in areas such as light sources, lasers, sensors, optics and more. We are engaged at the front end of the research and development process, and once the technology is validated, we partner with product engineering groups who then build products based on the technology we've developed. The Office of the CTO also provides technical mentorship into KLA's strategic planning process, program reviews and Product Life Cycle (PLC) phases. We provide our broad technology expertise and cross-division experience to ensure we take full advantage of the collective knowledge within our company. Where problem solving becomes innovation! Responsibilities

• First principle optical design of metrology systems and objectives.
• Software modeling of optical systems (Zemax, LightTools, etc.)
• Design and testing of innovative optical metrology systems.
• Guide the development process from design through performance validation on a system.
• Data analysis and presentation to multidisciplinary scientific team.
• Working with vendors for development and manufacturing of optical sub systems. Requirements
  • Strong analytical skills in optics and an understanding of issues in coating design, imaging, and microscope systems.
  • Experience with optical designs in software such as Zemax, Code-V, Oslo, LightTools, or equivalent software.
  • Experience with complex opto-mechanical alignment, assembly and testing.
  • Exposure to precision mechanical systems and optics fabrication methods is a plus.
  • Ability to build control interfaces and 3D modeling software is a plus.
  • Experience with high power laser development or non-linear optics is a plus.
  • Standout colleague with excellent written and verbal communication styles.
