Overview
Leading food manufacturing company looking for an experienced Food Safety Chemist. Ideal candidates should have a BS degree in Chemistry, Forensics, or related discipline with at least 5 years of experience.

Responsibilities: Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all analytical equipment including GC/MS, GC/MS/MS, LC/MS/MS, LC/QTOF, and ICP/MS. Troubleshoot analytical methods, both procedural and instrumental. Complying with ISO accreditation. (30%)
Identify and quantify components of interest and unknowns with both accuracy and precision. (20%)
Participate in analytical proficiency programs and investigate any corrective actions. Complying with ISO accreditation. (15%)
Keep current with new and developing technologies. Design and validate additional analytical procedures. (15%)
Validate and maintain multi-level standard reference solutions. (10%)
Ensure compliance with all internal plant, corporate, local, state, and federal regulatory standards (10%)

Requirements BS degree in Chemistry, Forensic, or related discipline with 5+ years of experience
Knowledge of standard multiresidue pesticide methodology, heavy metals testing, allergen testing by ELISA, Acrylamide and Capsaicin.
Proficient in GC/MS, GC/MS/MS, LC/MS/MS, LC/QTOF, and ICP/MS.
Ability to proactively identify and address concerns or issues that may affect or improve Food Safety, Product Quality, Key Stakeholder and Customer Expectations.
A detail oriented, team player with strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
A customer focused decision maker, multitasking with good judgement, competent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, Works with complex instrumentation and data collection tools.
Demonstrates excellent work ethics and behaviors with a strong sense of ownership and passion for end results.
Project management ability, including ability to take on key projects, i.e., LIMS (Labware), PT program, plant lab assessments and A2LA ISO accreditation.
Ability to take on supervisory responsibilities including, scheduling and reviewing daily work or laboratory technicians, keeping regard to priority samples and scheduled turnaround times.
