Office is seeking a Business Consultant for its developing team to
implement wellness initiatives across the medical school and
Michigan Medicine that align with the collaborative goals of the
office and its institutional partners. The Wellness Office mission
is to improve workplace well-being for all faculty, staff, and
learners at Michigan Medicine. This position will help promote,
expand, and manage workplace well-being across Michigan Medicine,
building stronger coalitions, and enhancing impact and service to
improve the quality of life at work. The Business Consultant will
provide strategic level direction and successful execution of
multiple concurrent projects of varying scope and complexity under
general supervision, including identifying new strategic
opportunities to further well-being at Michigan Medicine. The
Business Consultant will be responsible for collaborative growth
and development of key initiatives; identify areas of internal and
external opportunity to improve workplace well-being; and,
represent the Wellness Office on strategic initiatives and outreach
with senior leaders, stakeholders and partners. The Business
Consultant will be an integral member of the Wellness Office team,
and engage in operational development of key projects, team-based
problem solving, and contributing to the forward progress of our
strategic goals. This position will report to the Senior
Administrative Manager with additional administrative
accountability to the Chief Wellness Officer and medical school

implement the goals and strategies of the office. Responsibilities
include:
- Provide strategic level direction and successful execution of
multiple concurrent projects of varying scope and complexity under
general supervision, including identify new strategic opportunities
to further well-being at Michigan Medicine. Projects may include
designing the faculty associate program; leadership communications;
submitting conference abstracts and presentations representative of
the work of our office.--
- Conduct outreach, collaboration, growth and development of the
Wellness Advocate Network across Michigan Medicine faculty, staff
and learner areas. Identify opportunities to expand our both
internal and external network with collaborative partners to share
and exchange ideas for improving well-being; emphasis on
leadership.
- Develop survey tools, dashboard and communication, including
slide sets and tip sheets, for roll out of key wellness metrics for
teams/units to monitor and track progress. Engage in IRB-approved
research study evaluating drivers impacting wellness.--
- Provide operational support for development and implementation
of key strategic initiatives with other team members and internal
and external partners. Examples include toolkit development;
website maintenance of pages relevant to work responsible (eg,
Wellness Advocate Network); contributing to annual reports;
wellness curriculum; and other communication platforms.
- Provide leadership, consultation and development of
organizationally-aligned strategies from inception to
execution.
- Under general supervision, responsible for management,
performance and successful execution of multiple moderate to
complex concurrent projects of varying scope and complexity.
- Analyze, compare, and evaluate various courses of action,
develop action plans, implement as appropriate, and make
independent decisions free from immediate direction, within the
scope of their responsibilities.
- Synthesize large quantities of data, information, literature
and benchmarking to support succinct communications to influence
decision-making and inform broad audiences.
- Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of strategic priority
areas to enable independent handling of appropriate matters.
- Prepare written communications and presentations for a variety
of audiences including senior leadership.
- Act with courage and confidence to encourage creative thinking,
seize opportunities, demonstrate personal conviction and convey an
optimistic outlook.
- Create value for a diverse community by fostering a climate of
service excellence.
- Collaborate and build inclusive relationships with key

initiatives.
- Demonstrated skill in building collaborative and inclusive
relationships, with a high level of emotional intelligence,
including an ability to influence a diverse set of individuals in a
matrix environment.
- Strong and effective communicator in both written and verbal
forms, including demonstrated ability to present to audiences at
all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting data,
including proficiency in data survey tools.
- Flexibility to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet
deadlines, prioritize, shift priorities as needed, and work
collaboratively with others.
- Lead project deliverables through completion with minimal
supervision or guidance.
- Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily
perform the functions of the job include: communicating with

- Experience working in the complex environment of a large health
system and/or academic medical center

- Skilled proficiency using MS Office products e.g. Word,
PowerPoint, Excel. Business Consultant Lead Required
Qualifications:--
- Bachelor's degree or higher (Master's degree preferred) in
health-related or business administration field--or an equivalent
combination of education and experience.
- 5-8 years professional experience in health care administration
including in building relationships, leading projects through
completion with minimal supervision, and familiarity with survey
and data tools.-- Business Consultant Intermediate Required
Qualifications:--
- Bachelor's degree or higher (Master's degree preferred) in
health-related--or business administration field--or an equivalent
combination of education and experience.
- 2-5 years professional experience in health care administration
including in building relationships, leading projects through
completion with minimal supervision, and familiarity with survey
and data tools.-- Desired Qualifications*

procedures
- Familiarity with Michigan Medicine, University of Michigan
Medical School and University of Michigan Medical Group principles,
procedures, policies and standards Underfill Statement This
position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on
the qualifications of the selected candidate. Michigan Medicine
conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on
