or Portland, OR.As the Lead Analyst, Business Intelligence, you'll
be responsible for providing technical leadership for solution
design & architecture of analytics-based tools with thourough
understanding of available and emerging technologies, in support of
strategic initiatives and ongoing business processes for XPO
Logistics. You will lead projects, allocate and manage resources to
develop solutions that leverage and expand upon the company
Business Intelligence (BI) platform, with deliverables ranging from
description and diagnostic reporting to predictive and prescriptive

What you'll do on a typical day:
- Lead BI Strategy and analytics roadmap to drive end-to-end
architecture while adopting emerging technologies & platforms with
solution designs that leverage statistical approaches, machine
learning, and related disciplines to deepen our understanding of
the business drivers and achieve strategic objectives
- Engage with stakeholders across the organization to align
priorities, communicate solution design tradeoffs and
recommendations, and build and execute development plans
- Lead projects, allocate and influence resources to implement
solutions while continuously improving technical design patterns,
workflows, and tools—defining and enforcing standards when
necessary to sustain the platform's effectiveness and sustainable,
and experimenting with and promoting adoption of new tools and
approaches when appropriate
- Identify, lead, and deliver efforts to build reports,
visualizations, and dashboards using BI tools and practices through
the use of industry standard tools, libraries, and approaches
- Design user interfaces, tool screens, and end user workflows to
maximize understandability of information, ease of use, and
alignment with XPO aesthetic and usability standardsWhat you need
to succeed at XPO:At a minimum, you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military
experience
- 4 years of experience in BI and data analytics
- Experience analyzing large, complex multidimensional datasets
with data querying languages (SQL), BI tools (MicroStrategy,
PowerBI, Tableau, etc.), programming languages (Python, Java,
Scala, etc.), and statistical/mathematical software (R, Weka, SAS,
Matlab)
- Experience working with both structured and unstructured data,
and Hadoop or similar technologies, to recognize patterns within
data and generate insights/deliver value; familiarity with
streaming analytics using tools such as Spark, Kafka, Storm, etc.,
and cloud services like AWS, Azure Cloud, etc.
- Experience with machine learning, such as k-nearest neighbors,
random forests, ensemble methods and their corresponding
implementation packages in R (Caret, RandomForest, Rweka, etc.),
and Python (SciKit-Learn, TensorFlow, Keras, NLTK, etc.) It'd be
great if you also have:
- MBA or master's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer
Science or a related field
- R/Python certifications; Certified Business Intelligence
Professional from TDWI
- 5 years of hands-on experience delivering BI and data analytics
solutions that involve statistical modeling or machine learning,
along with the use of associated R/Python libraries and tooling,
which emphasize effective design and usability for end users
- Knowledge of Oracle OTMBe part of something big. #PIQ We are
