Job Description:

The Team

Deloitte is building the future business and technology backbone for biennial international sporting events and other major events. We have an established and growing team around the globe already dedicated to building and running the delivery and overall experience of these events. This is an unprecedented opportunity that will strategically and methodically transform some of the largest, most operationally complex events in the world and inspire a new generation of leaders to create positive change through sport. We are building a team to design and build a foundation that preserves stability and consistent delivery while also facilitating scalable innovation for future events.

Work You'll Do/Responsibilities

The Enterprise Architect is responsible for assisting the CTO and the Lead Enterprise Architect with the broad solution design of the international sport event technology ecosystem. The Enterprise Architect will drive solution design for part of the core solution but will be engaged with and advise all stakeholders within the event ecosystem including governing bodies, organizing committees, sponsors, and suppliers.

Help establish, facilitate, and drive cross-company architecture committees

Create key architecture design documents

Help supervise a small team but wield broad influence across technology domains to include infrastructure, network, cloud, applications, security, and operations.

Can straddle the business/technology divide as a true enterprise architect, but is an applied scientist not a theoretical one

"Roll up your sleeves and get things done" attitude vs "oversee and advise"

Role will require the ability to influence other technologists that are not part of the core team (e.g., governing bodies and service providers)

This role will work across countries, Deloitte Member Firms, and in collaboration with our Third-Party Partners

7+ years of technology leadership experience in enterprise architecture, engineering, technical architecture, application development and mission-critical systems

5+ years of risk management

Experienced in straddling the business/technology divide as a true enterprise architect as an applied scientist

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Passion around sports in general and major global events

Travel up to 50%. Flexibility and comfort with traveling globally. Significant international travel ( periodic trips to Switzerland, US, and future host cities; regular travel to host city not every week, but some extended stays); potential for relocation to Europe (Madrid)

This is not a hands-on development role, but ideal candidate can go deep on modern technologies (cloud, agile, network, security, SDLC)

Specific major global sporting event experience with solid understanding of the related ecosystem of players, delivery expectations, and timelines

Demonstrated track record and credibility in the sports and / or major events industry

Established network in the sports and / or major event industry

Culturally aware and curious global citizen

How you'll grow

At Deloitte, our professional development plan focuses on helping people at every level of their career to identify and use their strengths to do their best work every day. From entry-level employees to senior leaders, we believe there's always room to learn. We offer opportunities to help sharpen skills in addition to hands-on experience in the global, fast-changing business world.
